Shared Hosting Plan:
Shared hosting plan is one of the most commonly used plans. In shared hosting one has to share space and bandwidth with other users on the server that’s why it is called shared hosting. It provides less security and privacy as other users are also sharing the same server. Shared hosting works fine with small website or blog as they don’t require much space and bandwidth but for large business websites shared hosting plan is not good enough. It is cheaper than other hosting plans which means no big investment is involved so in order to learn about hosting shared plan is recommended.
Virtual Private Server (VPS):
VPS is based on single physical server which is further divided into series of virtual dedicated servers on the basis of software. It means you only have to share physical server whereas all the virtual servers are independent of each other. As you have your own VDS you can have your own OS and can configure your server as per requirements. VPS uses scalable technology which makes it more reliable in term of traffic handling and resource utilization. It is recommended for large business websites as it ensures you maximum uptime and quick response time which are keys for online business success. VPS is a bit costly than shared hosting plan and less costly than Dedicated server hosting.
Dedicated Server Hosting:
Dedicated server is a big server which is reserved for a single website or account. All its resources are dedicated to one website. Usually it is recommended for large business website or ecommerce based sites because these sites require large space and bandwidth to handle the traffic. In dedicated hosting you don’t have to share your resources with any other site which means you can have maximum reliability and security. These dedicated servers are quite big and are housed in data centers in order to ensure server stability. Dedicated hosting plan is further divided in to two categories; managed and unmanaged dedicated server. In managed server your host will take care of each and everything whereas in unmanaged hosting you have to manage it on your own. So if you are a newbie you should go with managed hosting plan else you can obtain an unmanaged hosting plan which reduces cost.
On the basis of these features one can select the most suitable plan for the website.
